In the past when I've taken part in a personal or corporal fast I fare well the first day, am hit hard the second and third days, and then level off for the remainder of the fast. This one has not started like I had anticipated at all. I got a headache in the morning that refused to leave even with ibuprofen. The first thing I ate was a banana (doubly ironic because I don't like bananas and this particular one was from Guatemala). While I didn't mind the restricted diet, I could never quite get full and everyone around me at work seemed to be particularly demanding. I felt less than half myself and the work load had doubled.
On a positive note, I was able to focus exceptionally well during my prayer / Bible study times. I started reading a book called "God Has a Wonderful Plan for Your Life" by Ray Comfort, but don't let the title fool you. It's not what you might think.
You can get it for FREE here...
One final thought before bed: I enjoyed the retreat and the opportunity to hear everyone's testimonies and gain a better grasp of who you all are. I had fun with you guys. Thank you Jon & Mistye for your leadership.
